New Chapter Added to the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA)

Lexington, KY. –The Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA) national leaders recently made their way to Chicago, IL to hold an Installation Ceremony for the new AFWA Chicago Chapter. On April 27th, Past National President, Karyn Hartke swore in the newly elected Officers and Directors and Executive Director, Cindy Stanley presented the Chapter with their new Charter.  The new chapter leaders inaugurated during this ceremony were as follows: Chelsea Sowers (President), Deepika Yeldandi (Vice President), Annie Evans (Secretary), and Amy Morgan (Treasurer) along with Directors, Vicki De Roeck, Amy Sexton, Lindsay Klem, Sophie Halb, Bridget Donoghue, Tia France.

Executive Director of AFWA, Cindy Stanley stated, “We are so excited about adding this new chapter in the Chicago area.  There are so many potential accounting and finance professionals that now have access to this incredible organization.  AFWA is an organization that enables Women to reach their full potential and contribute to their profession.  Our philosophy is to help our members Connect.Advance.Lead™ and we pride ourselves on our inclusivity and ability to help our members grow both personally and professionally. This is truly an historic event for the organization, and we look forward to seeing what the future will hold for this chapter.”

The Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance is a national organization with 57 chapters across the country along with a virtual chapter for areas where a chapter may not yet be located.
